Wolf CT induction cooktops of the earlier CTI generation, such as CT30 and CT36 sizes, display E54 when a generator heat sink thermistor reads shorted. E53, E54 and E55 form this group, mirroring E50, E51 and E52 for the open reading. The control loses its temperature measurement for that generator, so it may reduce or stop heating. The display shows E54, which is not a pan detection message.
1. Turn off every burner and give the cooktop time to cool. 2. Reset the breaker: off for one minute, then on. 3. Check that your cookware is flat and centered, then try a burner. 4. If E54 returns, stop and leave the cooktop alone. 5. Call us so we can test the thermistor circuit.
No. E54 does not mean a pan was not detected. It means a generator heat sink thermistor reads shorted. A repeat of the code after a reset is the main reason to book a visit.
E50 is an open heat sink thermistor and E54 is a shorted one. The sensor is the same, with a different failure condition. Booking is easy by phone or online, and we confirm the time by message.
The thermistor circuit and the generator board input, using meter readings, before we propose any part. Our aim is to fix it right the first time and leave the kitchen tidy.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
