On Wolf CT electric cooktops (CTE and CTE-2), including the CT30EU and CT36EU, E64 reports a bad or incorrectly wired power module. The control checked the power module's connections and found that the module has failed or its wiring is not as it should be. The display shows E64, and the cooktop will not heat normally. Other elements may or may not still work.
1. Turn every element off and let the cooktop cool. 2. Turn its breaker off for 60 seconds, then back on. 3. If the cooktop was recently serviced or moved, tell us when we call. 4. Should E64 reappear, stop and schedule service.
It usually is not. It can follow an earlier repair, a moved cabinet, or a loosened connection. We check connections first, then the module itself.
Not always. If we find a wiring issue, correcting it can clear the code. If the module has failed, we quote its replacement before ordering.
We recommend not running it until it has been inspected, because incorrect wiring or a bad module can stress other parts of the control and cost more later.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
