On earlier Wolf CT induction cooktops like the CT30I/S and CT36I/S, HOT is the hot surface indicator. It lights while the glass is above 150°F (65°C) and is normal. Other Wolf cooktops show the same message differently: a red triangle on CI and IR models, and H on Pro IR models. Owners see it after cooking and it disappears once the surface cools.
1. Leave the cooktop alone and keep hands, towels and plastics away from the glass. 2. Wait for the indicator to go out; it clears once the surface drops below about 150°F. 3. Wipe up spills only after it goes out. 4. If it stays lit after several hours, see our HOT stays on page.
No. It is an information light telling you the glass is still above 150°F (65°C). It is there for your safety and clears by itself.
They are the same hot surface warning on other Wolf models: a red triangle on CI and IR cooktops, and an H on Pro IR cooktops.
Until the glass cools below the threshold, which depends on how long and hot you cooked. If it remains on long after cooling, we can check it.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
