What 5431 means

On Wolf M Series wall ovens including the SO3050TM/S/T and DO3050PM/S/P, 5431 means the upper cavity heated too slowly, a low rate of rise, while running a self-clean cycle. The lower cavity version is 5432. The oven stops the clean cycle and shows the code, often leaving the cavity dirty and the door locked until it cools. The cavity is often left dirty.

Common causes of 5431

  • Heating element in the upper cavity not producing full heat
  • Relay not closing to power the element
  • Temperature sensor reading incorrectly
  • Low voltage or a weak supply to the oven
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Let the oven cool until the door unlocks. 2. Remove racks and loose debris from the cavity. 3. Check that the oven circuit breaker is fully on and not tripped. 4. Reset it for one minute. 5. Try a normal bake to see if it heats. If 5431 returns, we should look at it.

! Why to stop there
  • A slow heat rise can come from an element, a relay or the sensor, which look similar from the outside.
  • Testing involves live circuits that owners should not touch.
  • We diagnose, then give a written quote before repair.
  • Work is covered by a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

54315431 questions
What does low rate-of-rise mean?

It means the oven temperature climbed more slowly than expected during the clean cycle. The control treats that as a sign that heating is not working properly.

Is 5432 the same problem?

Yes, 5432 is the same condition for the lower cavity. The final digit tells us which oven reported it. Tell us when you book so we bring the right parts for that oven.

Does the oven still bake?

Sometimes. A weak element may still bake poorly, so uneven or slow baking alongside 5431 is a good clue to mention when you book. Tell us how it bakes.
