Wolf E Series wall ovens, including the SO3050PE/S/P, show 4221 when the broil element load is missing in the upper or single oven. The control powered the broil circuit and saw no load, so it treats the element as disconnected. Owners notice the code on the display, and broil may not heat at all while bake continues to work. The code is shown for the single oven or for the upper oven of a double.
1. Finish or cancel the cycle, then let the oven stand until it is safe to handle. 2. Drop power at the breaker, wait out two minutes, and raise it again. 3. Try a short Bake first, then a short Broil with the door closed to the recommended position, and see which one heats. 4. If 4221 remains, stop using Broil and call us.
The code is for the broil element in a single oven or the upper cavity of a double. A different code covers other cavities. Tell us which oven you use so we plan correctly.
You can often finish dishes with Bake while the broil element is down, but results differ. Use a lower rack and watch closely, since browning will be slower than normal.
Typically we test the element, confirm voltage at the connection, and replace whichever part has failed. You see the written price before any work begins.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
