Wolf 24-inch E Series wall ovens in the SO24 and SO2450 lines show E49 when a button is mechanically blocked or jammed, or when moisture sits on the control board. The control sees a key as permanently pressed, so it displays E49 and may ignore other inputs. Steam from cooking or damp cleaning near the panel is a common trigger.
1. Switch the oven off at the breaker and leave it off for an hour so the panel dries. 2. Wipe the panel with a barely damp cloth, and press each key lightly to be sure none is stuck. 3. Restore power. 4. If E49 stays, call us. Never spray cleaner on the panel.
One of the keys is being read as always pressed, or the control board is damp. Try pressing each key lightly to see if one feels stuck.
Yes. Liquid that runs behind the panel can leave moisture on the board and trigger E49. Keep sprays away from the panel in future. That keeps the panel safe in the long run.
Often. Power off and give it time. If E49 remains, a stuck key or board needs a technician. We then check the keys and the board.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
