Wolf 24-inch E Series wall ovens, including the SO24 and SO2450 lines, show E04 when the control reports a process data error. The oven found a problem in the information it uses to run its cooking cycles, so it flags the issue on the display and may stop heating. E04 sits right beside E03 in the same code list, but this one describes an error in the data rather than a wrong data load.
1. Cancel the cycle and wait until the cavity is cool. 2. Turn the oven's circuit breaker off for about a minute and restore it. 3. Run a plain 350°F Bake for a few minutes as a test. 4. If E04 shows again, leave the oven unused and book a visit. Please do not remove the control cover or the trim.
The control detected an error in its process data. That information tells the oven how to run each mode, so when it is damaged the oven flags E04 instead of cooking normally.
Sometimes a reset clears a one-off glitch after an outage. If the code returns on the next cycle, the data problem is real and needs a technician.
