On legacy Wolf DF dual fuel ranges that show text messages, a display of 88:88 means a communication issue between the oven controller, the ECH, and the OC-POD harness. The pieces of the control are not talking to each other. You will see 88:88 on the clock, and the oven may not respond to keys or heat as set. Note the exact code, 88:88, and when it first appeared, since that helps us narrow things down before we arrive.
1. Turn the oven off. 2. Flip the range breaker off, wait one minute, then flip it on. 3. Set the clock again and see whether 88:88 returns. 4. If it does, stop using the oven and call us. Do not open the control panel.
A blank or reset clock may show similar digits after a power loss. If 88:88 stays after a reset and the oven does not respond, the controller communication is the issue.
The oven controller, the ECH and the OC-POD harness. We test the harness first, then the boards, so we replace only what is needed. We explain what we find in plain words, and we tell you the result of each check.
Often the gas burners work on their own, but ask us first if anything else seems off. We give a written price before any repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
