On Wolf DFxx50 dual fuel ranges from 2020 on, such as the DF30450/S/P and DF36450G/S/P, code 0521 means the broil element DLB is shorted. The control sees an electrical short in the broil element's driver circuit, so it shuts the broil element down for safety. You will see 0521 and broiling may not work, though other oven functions sometimes still run.
1. Turn the oven off and let it cool completely. 2. Look inside for a visibly burned or sagging broil element, without touching it. 3. Take the range off its breaker for one minute, then re-energize it. 4. If 0521 returns, leave the oven off and call us.
It means the control detects a short in the broil element circuit, labeled DLB. The range disables broiling to protect itself. Baking may or may not still work depending on the model.
If the oven still bakes, you may be able to use that mode, but we advise against it with a shorted element circuit. Have us check it first and quote in writing.
We cannot tell without testing. The element, its wiring, or the relay driver can each cause 0521. We measure each part and tell you the price before we replace anything.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
