On Wolf CI induction cooktops with the touchscreen control, such as the CI30460T/S and CI36560C/B, E34 is a fan error. The cooling fan that keeps the induction electronics from overheating is not running as expected. The display shows E34, and the control may limit or stop heating to prevent heat damage. A blocked air path or a failing fan is the usual reason.
1. Turn all zones off and let the cooktop cool. 2. Make sure nothing blocks the vent area and that the cabinet space below is not stuffed with items. 3. Use the breaker to remove power for one minute and then return it. 4. If E34 returns, stop and call us; do not open the cooktop to reach the fan.
The control watches temperature and limits heating, which is why E34 appears. Using it anyway risks heat damage, so we suggest repairing the fan first.
Often you can hear it after cooking. If you hear nothing or a strange noise, tell us, as it helps us decide what to bring.
Yes, loosely. A weak fan can lead to the heat codes E2 or E102, so we check cooling first on any of them. We would rather diagnose it once than guess twice.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
