Code E102 / F30 on a Wolf CSO convection steam oven (24-inch or 30-inch series) is reported for that the oven has lost communication with the relay board. It is a software and board level condition, so cooking settings and the water tank have nothing to do with it. You may see the code on start-up or mid-cycle, and the oven may ignore the keys until power is cycled.
1. Turn the oven off and let it rest until it is cool to the touch. 2. Look at the breaker and confirm it is on. 3. Turn it off for sixty seconds and back on. 4. Let the display finish its start-up and try a short cycle. 5. If it shows again, leave the oven off and call us.
The F label appears with this code as the screen-level version of the same condition. We read both numbers together, and they point us to the boards and the system software rather than to the door or tank.
When the description calls for a reload, we do it as part of the visit if the board allows it. If the board is beyond that, we explain the replacement and its price first.
We would hold off. When the boards are not communicating properly, the oven cannot be sure of heat or steam commands, and a half-finished cycle may leave food undercooked.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
